This limited edition bronze is mounted on a marble base, and is a replica of the artists' public monument "Amistad Memorial", installed in New Haven CT in 1992 (click image to view monument). It pays tribute to Sengbe Pieh, or Cinque, the African captive who served as leader of the Amistad Rebellion in 1839. Cinque challenged his captivity in court, and the Supreme Court ruled that the African captives taken from Sierra Leone were legally free. It’s often cited as one of the first major civil rights victories in American history.  Price includes S&H.
